Jonas Martin

A third-generation broker and developer

Jonas Martin brings more than three decades of hands-on experience in real estate development, sales and business transactions to his role with American Business Brokers in Fort Myers. His grandmother, Olive Louise Martin, started in 1952 as one of the first female Realtors in Canada; his father Ross was a builder and broker, and his mother Joy a designer and realtor.

He began in 1988 as an Assistant Framer with Flower City Homes in Victoria, British Columbia, and by 1992 was Sales Manager, selling 32 units in 30 days. In 1995 he founded Century Development Inc. in St. Catharines, Ontario, managing everything from cost estimation and re-zoning to construction, rentals, sales and municipal approvals. He was licensed as a real estate broker in Canada in 2003 and became licensed in Florida in 2026.

Today in Florida, Jonas focuses on helping owners prepare and sell their business. He has guided multiple business owners through successful sales and understands the practical realities sellers face in preparing, marketing and closing a transaction. Having personally completed the E-2 Treaty Investor process, he also understands international buyers, an important part of the buyer pool for many Florida businesses.

He sells all types of businesses, including service companies, retail, manufacturing, distribution and franchises.

His approach: educate owners with clear communication, realistic valuation and steady guidance from first conversation through closing.
